How To Properly Clean an Airless Paint Sprayer

Airless paint sprayers are one of the most important pieces of equipment for a painter. Unfortunately, they can also break down easily if not taken care of properly. One of the most important things to do in order to avoid issues with your sprayer is to clean it after every use. We always keep two clean 5 gallon buckets around to use for cleaning our sprayer.

It’s simple, but it takes time and can get messy! When cleaning our sprayer, we always turn down the pressure to about 25%. Once the pressure is down, we run one 5 gallon bucket of clean water through the sprayer. Next, we remove any filters that the sprayer may have, clean them out with water, put them back on and run another 5 gallons of clean water through the machine. This keeps the sprayer clean and ready to use again!
