When painting a finished basement we don’t always recommend using the same color as the rest of the house. The main reason is that typically basements don’t get as much natural light as the rest of the home. Basements also tend to have lower ceilings, which means we need lighter colors to both, brighten up the darker space and to make the ceilings look a bit taller.
